I just entered high school. And some many emotions that I have never encountered before are showing up and I do not know how to deal with them. During my elementary and middle school years, I never was the touchy-feely type of person, because I never had much affection bestowed upon me at home. But now, I don't know how to express my emotions to my friends. I lost a guy who could have been my boyfriend because I couldn't show any sort of feeling toward him. And it hurt so badly that he chose someone who is so much better than me, a tall, skinny blonde girl, while I am a 5'3 pale girl who dyes her hair crazy colors. I just want to know how I can better display me emotions, feelings, and affection to my friends. I would really appreciate some help.

3) be kind towards them
How can I show my feelings toward people better?
get to know the person or people
How can I show my feelings toward people better?
I have a friend just like you and it was hard at first to continue our friendship with her being that way. I tink that there really isn't anything you can do to change yourself. You are who you are and people are either going to be willing to except it or move on. One thing you could do though, is make sure that you are letting the people you care about that this is the way you are and you can't change it. If they stick it out and understand then they are truly your friends and are willing to accept you the way that you are. Blondes are OVERRATED
How can I show my feelings toward people better?
Well seeing you say "he chose someone who is so much better than me" I think part of it has to do with your self image. Just because that girl is tall and blonde doesn't make her any better than you even in the slightest bit.
You have to love yourself before you can love others. Be completely honest with yourself about how you feel about things and try to share those feelings with others.
How can I show my feelings toward people better?
First off, just because some girl is tall, skinny, and blonde doesnt make her better than you. You HAVE to have confidence.
Second, its great that you are working on this now because most people dont notice that they are constantly distancing themselves from other people.
Compliment your friends, say nice things, always try to stay positive. When you feel good about yourself it shows and you will be good to other people.
When you start feeling embarassed for being so "mushy" or "cheesy" remind yourself that its a good thing if that's the type of person you want to be.
Smile.
