My grandmother and mom completely attacked me yesterday, they had been watching that stupid show 'What Not to Wear' and then they start telling me I should change the way I dress and change my hair and try to 'fit in' more.

Yes, I do dress differently and people are always looking at me but I don't care, I think it's funny how thay stand there with their jaws hanging open and whispering to other people and then looking over at me. I like standing out, I want people to remember me not just be another face in the crowd. I love chains and wear them on almost all of my pants, I usually just wear t-shirts. I bleached my hair a few months ago so my roots are dark brown and the rest of my hair is bright blonde. The back is short, the top is about four inches and stands up straight on the top of my head, the front comes down to the bottom of my face and I straighten it. Anyway...what do you think?

Should I just tell them to leave me alone?

def tell them 2 back off because its way better 2 want 2 stand out from the crowd then 2 be worried about fitting in,, they should be happy ur not one of those girls who will do anything 2 fit in like become aorexic so they look like all those girls on tv,,i think its good that u r ur on person =)

i watch that show and have learned a lot from it. but anyway, u said u like being different then everyone else, noticable. well, u can still be in fashion and be extremely original. what ur like now is definatly different but ppl don't respect u for it cuz u are wierd different. ( no offense) if u changed ur look a little bit, got into fashion u could still be original and DIFFERENT, but in a way ppl will say wow look at her she is so hot and creative. there is a difference between looking trashy and original.............i think u are trying to be ur own person but in the wronge way. please take my advice!! change ur looks not for ur family but for urself. trust me, it changes ur confidence level!

I personally would probably not dress like you do, but evidently you don't care (lol). I think you might conform to what they think is "proper" dress at family gatherings or at special family events - maybe even buy yourself a dress or two - but on your own time you're your own person (like someone above me said) and should be able to dress the way you feel is most atractive for you. I'm still young so I keep on changing my mind about the clothes I like and the hair i like but i do believe that you have to look like you have some self-respect every time you go out into the world.'What Not To Wear" is the most retarded show ever, the people all look like middle -aged businesswomen when they're done with them, no matter what they looked like coming in. All the clothes are the same (if you listen carefully they give identical advice to everyone, regardless of their job, age, sexuality, likes or dislikes, etc.). As i said before, even if i don't particularly like chained pants and bleached hair for myself, you should take a stand for your personal style. And although they will try, your family can't make you who you are (i wonder if they make even the smallest influence sometimes).

Your clothes sound OK-ish to me. I couldn't quite understand your hair style tho. Your description makes me think of something like this: Very long straightened bangs that hit about the chin, the rest of the hair is spiky like those punk styles at which hair goes straight up except the ends; they're again straightened but shorter han the bangs. It's black-ish halfway up and bottle blonde at the other half. Is this how your hair looks??? If the answer is yes, you ARE weird looking. Of course you're old enough to decide on your own, but I think most of the ppl would be scared of you!!! (Just scared from your looks tho, if you can catch them before they run away, and if your personality isn't weird like your hair, than they can see you're actually a nice person).

There is still a way to dress better but keep your personality and your style. You don't have to change everything but it won't hurt to try nicer or different cloths that you never would hae tried on. And changing your look doesn't always take away attention it just adds more positive attention.
