Hey everyone, my friends and i are doing you cant stop the beat from hairpray for the talent show. we need ideas on what to wear and how to do our make up and hair what shoes? we thought like poodle skirts what are some other ideas and where do we buy them for around 35 bucks?

Poodle skirts were from the 50's and the time frame for Hairspray was in th 60's. Poodle skirts would be all wrong. Girls did wear mid length skirts and dresses in styles that wen anywhere from full to tight.
Girls in school did NOT wear heels bigger than an inch or so. After school, some girls did change their shoes. Mid 60s, BIG hair was still in, but, like the film suggests, British influence helped introduce "Mod" styles of clothing and hair.
High school boys wore jeans and T shirts when they could, and checked and tartan pattern shirts if they had to. Button down collars and tucked in shirts for the "preppies," and (what we now call "polo" shirts) untucked for the other end of the spectrum.
