Teasing hair without damage?

Okay, i am not trying to "conform" to anything, I'm not trying to 'fit in" or be someone i'm not so please keep the negative comments to yourself. Anyway, i was thinking of getting some scene hair...( i don't mean the really wild. crazy color types...just a cute simple yet a bit of an edge type) oh and for those who don't know what i'm talking about, go to photobucket and type in "scene hair."

( I'm not good with putting links...lol they always get screwd up)anyways, i want to keep it long, (mine is right below my er...chest.lol) But when i go to the salon lady ( i will show her a pic of what i want) will she do that "poof" thing? or will i have to do that. I know people say you need to tease and hairspray it but...

1. i hate hairspray...it makes me hair all sticky and hard..and i don't like the feel of it personally.

2. i heard teasing is REALLY damaging

so..is there a way i can do that poof without teasing it?Or what can i use to not damage it as much?

Garnier makes something called surf hair. It will give textured hair the effect you need. It doesn't dry, isn't greasy and smells wonderful!

So my cousin is scene.. and she had amazing hair.. honestly ... RUINED now.. but her decision.. she's dyed it too many times to count... that's obviously the reason... she has a shorter look.. but i understand what your talking about.. so to answer your question.. without much damage.. i suggest a ROOT BOOSTER... it helps a little without teasing it.. it just give you some volume.. another way.. is using hair product such as wax or pomade since you dont like hairspray..

teasing is only damaging if you dont' do it the right way.. and if you do it all the time..
