Manic Panic hair color?

I have never used Manic Panic. I recently put some streaks in my hair that were supposed to be burgundy, but instead, they came out a light brown/coppery color. I was thinking I would like to use Manic Panic in a bright red, but don't know how lightened my hair has to be. How light do you usually have to get it for the color to show up?

Ive only used Manic Panic once and I dyed my hair in a pink mowhawk. I had to get it as light as I could just to get it to show a little bit then it washed out really quick.

Personally I dont think that Manic Panic works very well I use something else called Beyond Zone Color jamz. I had fairly dark brown hair and I covered my hair and it showed up pretty bright. Then I did it later just in the front and I bleached it first it was a copper gold color and I put the dye on and it came out the same color that it was supposed to be bright red. Candy Apple red.

Everytime I have used it, I bleached my hair first (with their pre dying bleach stuff) than did the streaks. It seemed to have worked really well, just make sure you put the color all the way to the roots, or else you will have a gap of blonde. Good luck! Otherwise, depending on how light or dark your hair is you might not get the results you wanted.

If you put it on your hair as is, it won't be as bright as shown but it'll still be red.

I've used their bright blue over my normally brown hair and got a really deep blue rather than the neon color.
